In 1920 A. Thorner [sic], 55, a Polish immigrant and dry goods merchant, lived at 126 Third Avenue with his wife Flora, 53; daughter Annie, 33; and daughter Hazel, 14. At 709 Main St. were Martin Tohrner, age 30, a canning factory manager, and his wife Sadie, 26 . I have not found Stella and can find no family members in 1910.

Miss Annie Tohrner [26 March 1888 - April 1966], as we called her, lived at the corner of Third Avenue, North, and Bridge Street, across from my family, when I was a teenager in the 1960's. In his last years of life, Martin Tohrner [22 August 1889 - November 1974] was a good friend of one of my uncles, to whom he sold his salvage business when he retired. Although the Tohrners were Jewish, his widow, second wife, Peggy Schatz Tohrner [10 October 1900 - 14 April 1998], was a frequent guest at our extended family's annual Christmas dinner in the 1980's.
