I am unable to determine which Rose family this is. In 1910 George P. Rose, age 41, a grocery merchant, and his wife Flora, age 40, were living on Main Cross Street although it is difficult to determine in which house. In 1920 W. S. Rose, 52, a retail merchant/grocery, is living in the same house as Green Williams on Third Avenue, along with his wife Emma, 50. There were few Rose households in Williamson County; strangely, these may be the same family.

When I was a teenager, we lived in the house at the corner of Third Avenue, North, and Bridge Street. I was home alone one Sunday afternoon when a woman that I didn't know came to the door. She asked if Mrs. Rose was home. I told her that Mrs. Rose had not lived there for a number of years and that I thought that she was dead. "Oh, no," replied my visitor. "I had a postcard from her just last week." I was perplexed and a little disturbed by her remark. Later, it turned out that she was actually seeking my grandmother, who lived with us, and a momentary memory lapse had made her ask for Mrs. Rose.
