Robert Albert Bailey was born September 11, 1849, and died August 6, 1916. He is buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

In 1910 Robert A. Bailey, 60, farmer, is shown on the Nashville and Franklin Pike with his wife, Leonora, 58, and their children Robert, Jr., 26; Leonora, 24; and Louise, 16.

Mother recalled that the Baileys had three daughters and two sons, but I believe that she was mistaken. In addition to the children living in Robert Bailey's household in 1910, they had sons William T. Bailey and Henry Mayberry Bailey.

The Bailey's home was known as Beechwood.and was built by Mrs. Bailey's father in 1851.
