Mary Margaret "Polly" Bailey was born in April 1843 in North Carolina and died on April 1, 1922, in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. She is buried at Green Hills Cemetery. Before her marriage to William Gentry, she was married to a Brooks although I have been unable to find a marriage record or to find Mary in any census prior to her marriage. In 1880 a son by her first marriage is shown as James R. Gentry, age 17.
