John Thomas "Tommie" Butner was the youngest child and fifth son of John Scott Morgan Butner and Lettia Ann Scott. He was born in July 1889 in either Coffee or Maury County, Tennessee, and died November 19, 1918, in Mason, Lyon County, Nevada, of influenza. He never married.
